Nam Phan replaces Eddie Yagin – fights Dennis Siver at UFC on FOX 5

Dennis Siver has a replacement opponent – Nam Phan.

It emerged in the last few days that UFC Featherweight Eddie Yagin has had to withdraw from his UFC on FOX 5 fight with Dennis Siver after he was diagnosed to have swelling on the brain. They were originally were meant to fight at UFC 151 only for the event to be cancelled however as a consolation Siver will in fact get another opponent this time around.

In steps Nam Phan (18-10) who has been very inconsistent so far in his UFC run going 2-3 although he has been in some close and controversial decisions in that time. In his last appearance he beat Cole Miller by way of decision at UFC on FOX 4. He will be looking to make it back to back wins for the first time in the UFC.

Siver meanwhile has reborn himself as a Featherweight, winning his debut against Diego Nunes at UFC Sweden earlier this year. Prior to that the German had lost to Lightweight contender Donald Cerrone at UFC 137 last year.

UFC on FOX 5 goes down on December 8 and is set to feature a Lightweight title fight between Benson Henderson and Nate Diaz and a Light Heavyweight fight between Shogun and Alexander Gustafsson.
