The cuts just keep coming from the UFC.

Following the releases of Demarques Johnson and Rich Attonito earlier this week, Carlo Prater (30-12-1) has been given his marching orders following a 1-2 run with the organization.

Prater, a former WEC title contender fought Marcus LeVesseur last weekend at UFC on FX 5 and was on the wrong side of a split decision. Although the fight was competitive it wasn’t good enough for Prater to keep his job. A notable win over Carlos Condit earlier in his career may look good on paper but in this recent stint with the UFC he hasn’t looked great in any of the 3 fights.

Previous to the loss to Le Vesseur, Prater was dominated by TJ Grant and picked up a shocking DQ win over top prospect  Erick Silva at UFC 142 where it was alleged by Mario Yamasaki that he was struck to the back of the head.

There has been no official word from Prater just yet but it will be back to the smaller shows for the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt.
